Kuroo is a KDE Portage frontend that allows you to do most common software maintenance tasks on gentoo systems. It is a joint project with openusability.org. See http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=16002
Unfortunately I cannot find spare time for maintaining and developing kuroo anymore.
If you are interested in maintaining kuroo, please visit http://kuroo.org for more info and contact us.
Thanks!

Oh no!
...I don't know what I could do though. I could try to be a wiki maintainer but, well, I don't have that much time... I really don't want to see Kuroo die! _________________ I'm too lazy to keep this stupid signature up to date, so here's something more interesting:
My friend Hetdegon can draw if you ask me.
Now using PClinuxOS on my laptop and Gentoo on my desktop and new laptop. |

| Allthough I mainly use kuroo for tree browsing, it is the best portage frontend I've come across, and I hope someone can pick it up... |

Since you have released kuroolite recently may I assume the development on Kuroo continues? _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered |

Catapult (http://catapult.origo.ethz.ch) may indeed get kuroo back on track. It is a dbus service that allows portage-guis to connect directly to portage via dbus. |

| I just installed it and it seems to be working again. At least it can start without crashing, which was not the case before. |

I found a first bug :
How to reproduce:
Select more than one program to install.
Choose the first program not to have dependencies and at least one other to have one.
When verifying the installation, it gets all packages dependencies and they appear as a dependency of the first program which is not the case. |

This is Sad news, I hope a solution arises soon as Kuroo is the best Gui for Gentoo & has been good to me. I was hoping some day they might add a Queue for uninstalling pkgs like in portage & then it would just about be complete.
I wish I knew enough about develpopment etc to help but I am still learning about how to run Gentoo which is a fun struggle as it is for me.
I hope help arises, & all the Best with this great Project. |
