ps3videomode has about 3 main resolutions

480, 720, and 1020

My problem is that the 720 resolution actually doesn't fit on the screen completely and part of it is hanging off.
1020 text gets really garbled and the screen is a little shaky.

For my LCD Monitor/TV, optimal native resolution is at 1440 x 900. Looking around in the files for both ps3videomode.c and ps3fb.c within the source code for drivers/video I found a location that has something to do with the FB and what each resolution is actually.

Modifying it I have gotten a few weird results, but nothing overly conclusive.

Am I even looking in the right spot? Or how would I be able to get the PS3 to output to a 1440 x 900 resolution? I'm going to assume that to do something that customized it would have to be within the source code... which I'll also assume is accessable/changeable.

Wouldn't it be a driver issue of the ps3?

In any case, shouldn't your monitor support those resolutions as they are HD standards?

I'm not sure exactly if it's a driver or not. Which is why I'm trying to find more information. Nor am I really sure why the monitor is screwy at this resolution yet "fits" at 1020.

I'll probably end up sending an email to Westinghouse Digital and see if they have any response to it.

Right now I'm using the composite outputs. I can get 1020i, and 720p, etc... I'm not exactly sure if changing the output mode/cable would make a differance?
