|
|
Hello all,
I'm trying to burn an audio CD from a set of mp3s. Burning the mp3s as a data cd works without a problem. When burning as an audio cd, the process terminates with an error message when starting some track (sometimes it fails at track 1, sometimes at track 4 or so). I've tried various combinations of software: k3b-0.12.17 and k3b-1.0_rc4 (from an overlay ebuild); cdrtools-2.01.01_alpha10; cdrkit-1.1.0 and cdrkit-1.1.1; gentoo-source kernels linux-2.6.18-gentoo-r3 and linux-2.6.18-gentoo-r6. Same results.
I've also tried adjusting the burn speed (down, of course). No dice.
Here are the error message details from the k3b log:

And from dmesg we get this little tidbit (this is under 2.6.18-r3 NOT the 2.6.18-r6 kernel used in the above log):
Code: |
Jan 18 10:30:20 [kernel] hda: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }

Umm, well, we did get a tidbit under 2.6.18-r3 ... under 2.6.18-r6 there isn't anything. Hummm. I'll try and get some code to put in there.
[EDIT: Added the kernel messages from 2.6.18-r3]
Regards,

You should not try to burn Audio Cds at such a high speed.
There are special Audio CDRs from TDK availaible.
Try to burn these Audio CDRs at 1x speed.
This reduces the jitter and the number of write errors. |

Working directly from cdrecord (wodim) to use 1x burning speed:
Code: |
/usr/bin/cdrecord -v gracetime=2 dev=/dev/hda speed=1 -dao -dummy driveropts=burnfree -eject -useinfo -audio /tmp/kde-user/k3b_audio_1_??.wav
