I am trying to follow the "HOWTO Setup mysql virtual hosting" guide on the Gentoo wiki.

However, when emerging mysql, there is no srvdir USE flag (and hence the /srv structure is not used).

What mysql ebuild should I use in order to have the srvdir USE flag and how do I go from the present installation to the /srv data structure based installation (in the mysql ebuild changelog there is a mentioning that the srvdir USE flag only makes a difference when there is no previous mysql installation)?

mysql emerge information:
Quote:
emerge -av virtual/mysql

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild R ] dev-db/mysql-5.0.30-r1 USE="berkdb perl ssl -big-tables -cluster -debug -embedded -extraengine -latin1 -max-idx-128 -minimal (-selinux) -static" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] virtual/mysql-5.0 0 kB

Total: 2 packages (2 reinstalls), Size of downloads: 0 kB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No] no

srvdir is in my make.conf file (and apache has picked it up correctly from there).

I think it recently was removed from all mysql ebuilds.

Hi, I just read about the srvdir USE-flag within the webapp-config configurationfile. But I couldn't find it inside of the ebuild. It's also not mentioned in the use.* files within the profile directory.

Did this flag got wiped out? Why was it deleted from the MySQL-ebuilds?

Thanks
