Just tried install e17 from http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_e17...
Code: |
localhost dmenu # emerge -avu ${E17_EBUILDS_TO_INSTALL}
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:
Calculating dependencies /
emerge: there are no ebuilds to satisfy "dev-libs/efreet".
|
Is where something going on e17 or what? Why efreet wont found? Should i just wait or what? |

I assume you are using layman:
Did you add the "source" line to your make.conf?
Code: |
echo "source /usr/portage/local/layman/make.conf" >> /etc/make.conf
|
I had the same error yesterday and it works fine now. |

You mean keyboard layout? in /etc/X11/xorg.conf

see /etc/conf.d/alsasound
Code: | ...
RESTORE_ON_START="yes"
...
SAVE_ON_STOP="yes" |
Nothing related to e17 in any way. _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

Empty alsasound sounds strange/outdated. For keymap don't forget to rc-update add keymaps boot. Same for the alsasound init script. _________________ http://proaudio.tuxfamily.org/wiki - pro-audio software overlay

Hi guys,
i'm just wondering if this is a bug or a feature: When I press shortcuts like ALT+f in order to launch firefox, e17 writes "f" on my desktop. See http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3669/e17bugzf5.jpg
Is there a (simple) way to disable that behaviour?
EDIT: Ok, the bug seems to be resolved now _________________ "Pure mathematics is on the whole distinctly more useful than applied.

Me being a big fan of enlightenment I downloaded from source using cvs. Cause of this work a round I built a shell with know errors and knows how to fix them, but it's still a bit buggy. I'll come back again and tell all you lot when I finished and have plaved on my website.
ANother thing I would like to say is thank good for enlightement because they created evas. Evas and Ecore and wonderful programming tools. Easy to learn, and easyier than java, as long as you know the basics of c. I hoped to get a couple of games built to. I luv it _________________ Please put [SOLVED] when you've found the solution. broeman: I have this exact problem. It would be nice to find a solution to it, but I can't find any...
It might work to remove the temperature module from the makefile, as this seems to be the problem.
Edit:
It compiled just fine without the temperature module _________________ GCC-4.3.3-r1 - march=core2, gentoo-sources-2.6.30-r2 SMP x86_64 @ Core2Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM |

quite frankly I don't know of this module. It isn't part of the cvs download. _________________ Please put [SOLVED] when you've found the solution. It makes everyone's lives easier.

The temperature module is a standard module that comes with e itself.
I just edited the two Makefiles in /var/tmp/portage/x11-wm/e-9999/work/e17/apps/e/src/modules/ to disable it. _________________ GCC-4.3.3-r1 - march=core2, gentoo-sources-2.6.30-r2 SMP x86_64 @ Core2Duo 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM |

great, it worked
I think I finally found a dark theme, that I am happy with Carbon-14 (http://www0.get-e.org/Themes/E17/_files/carbon-14v2.edj) and GTK-theme Neutronium. It has some kind of retro-80s-pixel-accuracy style over it.
For one I think I will keep E17 ... seems a lot more stable and having settings for most things now (last time I used E17, they just implemented the "control panel", and it was buggy).
Keep up the good work! _________________ Former Official Danish Gentoo Translation Team |

I have a question.
Alt + Tab: lets you browse the windows of the current virtual desktop
is there any keyboard combination that let you navigate all windows on all the virtual desktops? |

That's a config option. I can't tell you exactly where, because I'm running beryl at the moment ( damned E17 not supporting AIGLX compositing ). But anyway, look through the config panel, and also check out the 'advanced' options in each of the config pages. _________________ David Hicks' plea. Was it:
