This has come up before here:
Ximian Gnome
It's not supported (god, it wasn't even supported for MDK8.2 last time I looked so suggesting Gentoo seems ambitious!), and I agree with Huw in that thread. It defeats the whole concept of using Gentoo because the whole desktop will not be built on and optimized for your system. Not to mention turning your system into a mongrel (half portage/half rpm managed). |
