Install parted (emerge -s parted), make backups just incase anything goes wrong and away you go.

I just deleted hda6 and resized hda5 to take up the space with no hassle what so ever. :)

um..if you want something GUI, get qtparted

I believe. You will still need to have parted installed for the libraries, but it's very nice and it's free :)

Otherwise you might want to look at something like Partition Magic (I am sure they support ext3 now)..

Happy Hunting / Compiling

I think QTParted is for you then. You will need the QT libs installed, that's the only downside

If you are feeling brave you can try parted, it's actually very easy to use (I got it all right and it was the first time I used it). If I can use something like that...anyone can :)

Let me know if you need help.

QTParted does not exist in the partage tree...

Er.. The newest PM should resize ext3 just fine... My copy does. (PM8 I think.. haven't used it for a while)

If it doesn't you could always use tune2fs to remove the journal from the partition, and then it will be ext2 and PM should definitly be able to resize it then... Then after words just add a journal to it with tune2fs again.

No QTParted isn't in the portage tree, you have to build it yourself. It is quick and easy to build and only relies on QT and parted.

If I can do it, _anyone_ can....
