Use the normal terminal and type: sudo -s or su - and enter your password. _________________ AMD Phenom X4 9850 Black Edition

It is because the menu command executes /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator
You can modify the entry to execute gnome-terminal or xterm or whatever you prefer, or you can create a symlink x-terminal-emulator to the term of your choice.
E.g.
ln -s /usr/bin/gnome-terminal /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator |

j79zlr, i think this is a "quick-hack" solution and there should be a better way to do this.
In Gnome menu, under "System > Preferences > Preferred Applications", we can select the default terminal application. I think this should be the "correct" symlink to "x-terminal-emulator"? Anyone knows how can this be linked? |

| I thought that too, but setting that does not create the symlink. |

| seems like x-terminal-emulator is a virtual package under debian and ubuntu... but what about gentoo? |
