No dynamic GL support in video driver [SOLVED]

Hi there, I am trying to run some games e.g. tremulous on my newly installed gentoo box:

2.6.18-gentoo-r3 #7 SMP PREEMPT Sat Dec 9 17:45:55 GMT 2006 x86_64 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

I have the nvidia beta drivers installed for an fx5500:

x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-1.0.9742

and my xorg.conf file is set up in the normal nvidia way...

When I try and run a number of fps games e.g. tremulous, I get the following error:

QGL_Init: Can't load libGL.so.1 from /etc/ld.so.conf or current dir: No dynamic GL support in video driver
failed

Any idea what the issue could be? (I also tried the stable, non beta nvidia drivers, but had same issue)

Hi thanks, but I just solved it. It turned out that all I needed to do was add opengl to my USE variable list and re-emerge libsdl
