An "emerge rsync --clean" would have fixed it as well. |

thanks guys that worked for me too, but it seems like it emerging way too much gnome stuff for simple gaim and xmms usage. do i really need gconf 1.0 and 1.2 and gnome-core to send an instant message or listen to an mp3? i remember on a previous installation deciding that i didnt need gnome and unmerging everything gnome, but still being able to use gaim. |

I was having a similar problem and just running "emerge rsync" without the clean fixed it.
Now I am on the mission to get Gaim installed and all of its many dependent packages
I am having this problem when I emerge gconf-1.0.8-r3
Code: |
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... yes
checking for xml-config... /usr/bin/xml-config
checking for db_env_create in -ldb-3.3... yes
checking db3/db.h usability... no
checking db3/db.h presence... no
checking for db3/db.h... no
configure: error: db3 library found but db3/db.h not found
!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.
!!! Function src_compile, Line 36, Exitcode 1
!!! (no error message)
!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/gnome-base/gconf/gconf-1.0.8-r3.ebuild .
|
Any ideas? I cannot find anyone else having any db3 problems. |
