|
|
When I click the "Lock Session" action item from the K menu, it uses kdescreensaver to lock the screen. I'm not using kdescreensaver, I'm using xscreensaver (it has nicer screensavers). How can I change the behavior of the "Lock Session" button? Or remove it entirely from the K menu? None of the "Actions" items (Run, Logout, Lock Session) appear in the kde menu editor!
Alternatively, any way to get kdescreensaver to recognize the RSS-GLX "Really Slick Screensavers" and use them from within kscreensaver? I've tried re-emerging kscreensaver but it still won't see them.
TIA! _________________ Compaq XP1000 Alpha EV67 667Mhz w/ 2GB ECC

kscreensaver can use xscreensaver's screensavers. depending on how you installed kde, you need to re-emerge kscreensaver.
cheers
edit: i should read more. do you have the xscreensaver use flag set? _________________

I do not have any screensaver use flags. I've already re-emerged kscreensaver several times, but it doesn't list the RSS-GLX stuff when I browse through it. _________________ Compaq XP1000 Alpha EV67 667Mhz w/ 2GB ECC

set the xscreensaver flag, re-emerge kscreensaver and log out and back in. they should show up.

I solved the problem, thanks for the tip. FYI- it isn't the kscreensaver package that needs re-emerging after setting this USE flag. I did that several times and it had no effect. The package that needs re-emerging is the kdeartwork-kscreensaver package. _________________ Compaq XP1000 Alpha EV67 667Mhz w/ 2GB ECC
