Hi all,
They released an official Linux Client:

I tried the client, but the client can't find my libGL.so.1
I have mesa installed and I found a libGL.so.1 in /usr/lib64/opengl/xorg-x11/lib |

You need the 32bit version of it. _________________ Commercial games for Linux: Fun4Tux.ch |

Ryzom builds with CMake now ...it'd be a treat to see a source Ryzom ebuild in the future :]

Ryzom seems to have migrated their Wiki, so the two important links in question are now:
From the CMake HowTo it looks like a proper source ebuild for Gentoo shouldn't be too hard to do ...and I just learned on Ryzom core (dev) IRC channel that if the code wasn't changed, we used the Ryzom's data and the Ryzom's official updater, the compiled client would be able to connect and play on the official gaming server as well.
What's also interesting is that now the official server is gratis without any time or place restriction, but you have to pay a monthly fee if you want to advance above level 125.
BTW, would it be sensible to either split this thread into a new one talking about Ryzom on Gentoo or just renaming it to a more consistant topic?
update: added info from a Ryzom dev _________________ tea+free software+law=hook
