Then I won't expect much in the bedroom, if you know where I'm going with this. Also, probably wouldn't expect to have a fiance next time, either. Maybe I should have lost my job... then I'd have an excuse not to buy a bunch of shit.

It's too late, anyway. We set limits for each other, and I already ran over it. Possibly twice.

Happy Christmas all (just stuck my USB tree up). Oh and an ideal present for the ladies is a bottle of washing up liquid. Marigold gloves too if you feel like splashing out.

Yes, I set limits... and exceed them far and away.

However, I enjoy buying gifts.

Chirstmas IS a Pagan holiday. Its called Yule, and the Catholic church slapped some poorly-timed label on it as Jesus's birth, and tried to pass the whole thing off as Christian. Everything from the presents to the red and green colors are Pagan.

Happy Yule to everyone!

My USB snowman isn't there anymore, but they have an alternative. Mine lit up like the tree they have, and alternated between red, green, blue, and purple lights.

That site is sweet. The beverage chiller/hotplates I liked. The snowman, not so much, but the xmas tree would go well (if I had the desk space, lol)

That has to be one of the strangest, and most useless, USB devices I've ever heard about.

the lights are about the only thing i like about christmas. i don't see the point to exchanging gifts on one (or two) days of the year. my roommate wants to buy a tree but we don't have the room in our house. i got a funny feeling he's going to do it anyways though. :P

Get a USB tree. Small, and work as a night lite.

Is it more or less sad do you think, that its in reference to a pagan holiday?

So, technically, "holiday" also carries some sort of religious baggage with it.
At least it is inclusive of all religions (I consider Atheism and Agnosticism to be religions).

chrismcdirty wrote:
And if I'm going to celebrate a religion in December, I'm going all out with Mithraism and bathing in a bull's blood.
I just look forward to the Trampling of the Idiots every year.

As far as Kwanzaa goes, that seems like a pretty stupid holiday.

Wikipedia wrote:
Ron Karenga created Kwanzaa in California in 1966, during his leadership of the black nationalist United Slaves Organization (also known as the "US Organization"), in order to give African Americans an alternative holiday to Christmas. He later stated, "...it was chosen to give a Black alternative to the existing holiday and give Blacks an opportunity to celebrate themselves and history, rather than simply imitate the practice of the dominant society."
Why shouldn't a black Christian celebrate Christmas? Seems like a holiday created from hatred to me.
