I have my laptop with me today, and I have:
CFLAGS="-march=athlon64 -msse3 -O2 -pipe"
BTW, I managed to get the modem working, and can happily (though somewhat slowly!) connect to my University ISP. I've put a short description at http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_Dell_Inspiron_1501 Basically, you need the Linuxant driver, which comes as an ebuild in Gentoo, and is fairly easy to install. |

First off, I had to use the 2006.1 Minimal CD. The LiveCD wasn't detecting my sata drive, for some odd reason.

Thanks for that truk77
I just spent a couple of hours trying to get the LiveCD to recognize the SATA drive in our newly-acquired backup server, in case other folks with same problem do searches: asus p5vd2-mx se + intel e4500 2.2GHz dual core + 2GB ram
Found your message, tried the minimal install cd and it found the drive
Thanks! |
