|
|
Hello
Can anyone recommend a "confidence test" that I can run on some old disks that I have. Perhaps some kind of write/read/verification routine?
I don't want to get clever and try to fix a bad disk, but I'd rather not throw these out (via my hammer cleansing routine) if I don't have to.
Thanks,

You could use SMART (assuming they aren't THAT old) to see if they are reporting problems (http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/6983). Or you could use the scan/check software from there respected manufacturers? |
