Hi,
I've put the append option in silo.conf for "video=atyfb:1024x768@60", but I'm still not able to see video from the linux environment. I'm not sure what to do now and so I'm asking the gentoo forums.
Gentoo was running fine on my Ultra 10, but the elite video card in the machine ceased. I pulled the video card out and plugged the monitor into the onboard vga port. Since I've done this, the gentoo-sparc livecd will load fine, but my hard disk install is having problems with the video--Prom stays on the screen with a 'loading kernel' message while the machine boots into linux. I can't see the hard disk linux environment, but I can type "root", "[password]" and "halt" to shut the machine down.
Thank you.

Maybe your kernel lacks the atyfb driver? _________________ Gustavo Zacarias
