Hiya. I was wondering if there is any linux program out there which is able to record the line in input prefferably while playing it also although I don't think that this is essential. Anybody know of anything?
Thanks.

I like KRec, from the KDE packages.
I've also used arecord, which is simpler. _________________ regards, Esben

Krecord I tried and couldn't figure out at all. It didn't record my line in anyway. And arecord was also recording something other than line in and resulted in pops every now and then. I had to resort to windows on this occasion. I found snd which apparently records line in but i couldn't emerge it because it couldn't find the configure file. Oh well. windows is still installed for now oh well. |

In order for krecord to work you have to set your arts sound server to full-duplex mode. Note that when you have this enabled arts will never suspend so other apps that try to acces the sound device withought going through arts will fail.
Sox also comes with a simple recorder you could try. |
