My latest problem with madwifi-ng is rather strange.
When connecting to our access point at bootup it seems to find the AP but doesn't really get the right mac adress and therefore the connection doesnt work.
To fix it, I have to remove just about every module related to wlan and modprobe ath_pci afterwards, then restart net.ath0. It then discovers the right mac adress and the connection is set up. When merely restarting net.ath0 without removing the modules first, it always ends up with an access point at 00:00:00:00:00:00, which of course doesn't work. So now everything *kinda* works but this is _very_ annoying as my gf's pc is concerned and she is not as geeky as I am (although she is really great at figuring computer-shit out).
I have (just now) disabled coldplug in /etc/conf.d/rc and added 'ath_pci' to autoload.d to make sure nothing is autoloaded too early (device initiated services are *SO* lame) but I won't reboot for at least a couple of days, so I can't test if that does the job.
Running 2.6.18-gentoo on x86 with madwifi-ng-0.92.
Any thoughts?
