When you finally get kazaa lite + wine to work, let me know
I need a lot of help, I applied the kpp-fix.patch to wine-20040213 and I still can't get it to work
I've tried various things mentioned in this thread. |

Installing Kazaa Lite is simple nowadays. I tried last year and it took me days and it only worked with copying a fake_windows and config. I installed it a couple of days ago and it took me 15 minutes (I use Mandrake so with Gentoo it will take longer )All the information you need you'll find on franks corner.
Here are the 7 steps:
1: Install wine (20040213)
2. Install winesetuptk (0.72)
3. run winesetuptk
4. Install DCOM98 (there is a script at franks that does it for you)
4. install Kazaa Lite K++ 2.4.3
5. copy and paste this
Quote: | [AppDefaults\\KazaaLite.kpp\\DllOverrides]
"comctl32" = "native"
"commctrl" = "native"
"shdocvw" = "native"
"shlwapi" = "native"
"ole32" = "native"
"oleaut32" = "native" |
in your config
6. copy these 6 dll's (from a win98) to your Windows/System folder
7. and you're ready to go. There is a shortcut on your desktop and k menu
Good Luck |

How do I do it in wineX and if I can't then how do I install wine without killing wineX.
EDIT: nvm I'll just get wine from cvs and give it a different path when I ./configure. What's the switch for that btw? _________________ I wish I had a pet penguin

Find me a bigger network for music. The official client blows donkeydicks but the modified klite k++ is good. _________________ I wish I had a pet penguin
