I've been trying combinations of all the intructions I've found on this site to no success, all I get is "LoadLibrary() Failed" when I attempt to execute the program.
Could you please explain what exactly you did to get it to work with wine-20031016?
Thanks! |

I followed the instructions step by step.
make sure that you use klitekpp241e.exe. it's not the most recent version, but the latest that works here.
i also put my ~/.wine/config online. hope that helps.
maybe it's important to mention that i started from a clean fake_windows.
good luck |

I followed the instructions mostly, edited the ebuild and copied the patch, and installed kazaa lite 2.4.1e, and heres the error I get:
The file you want to load(on the command line or in the registry string key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\K++\ApplicationName" or "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\K++\ApplicationName") does not exist or is not a file. |

Well, I did everything that I was supposed to (even used the correct version) but the program ends with the error (with a few lines before):

Hmmm.. I followed the instructions (even using correct version), and I'm getting a "wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000b), starting debugger..." error. Weird. Using wine10162003, I believe. _________________ old outdated sig |

Actually, I'm getting the same error as Annex ever since I install Cyberduke's config.
I guess it's something to do with the wine config, not Kazaa itself. Let's try to find some uber1337 config... One config to r00l them all and in the darkness binary them. _________________ old outdated sig |

OMG, I got it to work. It needed new versions of dlls called oledlg.dll and olepro32.dll, and as soon as I did it I got K-Lite 1.7.3 working... I have not tried newest version yet. But still... YAY!!! _________________ old outdated sig |

Nevermind, it still doesn't work... I'm using something generated by winsetuptk.
Code: | wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000b), starting debugger...

Why not just use native app that connects to the FastTrack network, like giFT? It even has a nice KDE-based UI called Apollon.
Perhaps it was already mentioned in this thread, but I didnt read anything but the last page _________________ PC: Antec 350W PSU, AMD Athlon64 3000+, ASUS K8V Deluxe Mobo, 512MB PC3200@400MHz, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB, 80GB Maxtor HDD @ 7200RPM |

I also use Apollon (Even though I have a total GTK+2/Gnome desktop, it's that good) but it doesn't come up with enough search results. I searched for the same thing on Kazaa Lite on my desktop. Apollon came back with about 230 results. Kazaa Lite came back with something around 2,000. Remember that Apollon is also searching two other networks. o_O
I will definitely use giFT in the future when it is better, but for now... It's Wine Time!
BTW, I got it almost working... _________________ old outdated sig |

O.M.F.G.
It still doesn't work.
I'm going to kill this thing!!!
Possible somebody could provide me with that pre-compiled Wine binary mentioned earlier in the topic? Their link is dead. _________________ old outdated sig |

Just want to say that these are the instructions I followed, and they DEFINITELY work fine.

A) Kazaa =! Kazaa Lite.
B) It's wine, do you really think something that complicated would effect an emulator/whateverthehellWiNEis? _________________ old outdated sig |

after giving up installing kazaa, i installed giFT (with the Apollon frontend) and found it to be very good
the multiple network thing is great, and it DOES support FastTrack as well as openFT
check it out:
http://www.ifrag.co.uk/apollon.png
Code: | emerge gift
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge apollon |
also you can try
to find all the extra plugins, such as FastTrack, Gnutella, and OpenFT
a lot of them are masked for some reason though... so just add "ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86"" in front of the emerge command to bypass this |

hey thanks, never heard of appolon, wil.l check it out,
me being using giFToxic for gift-fastrack gift-openft gift-gnutella
I did manage to run kazaa lite with wine, but found it completely slow and crashed a lot with the many thousand mp3s I have on the hdd,
mind you saying that, giftd takes a lot of CPU usage itself, have you noticed. |
