My video card is an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 4000.
Do I need to add anything in the bootloader configuration file?
Thx again

Depends on what you want to achieve.
Usually one uses a bootloader to boot a system. At least one entry with a configuration that can boot a system would probably be useful
But seriously, which framebuffer driver did you include in the kernel? If you know the answer, please search the forums. I'm pretty sure you can find a configuration that will do what you want.
Some framebuffer stuff here: https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=49036 _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

I used the genkernel default.
This is my second install attempt and I'm trying to be very careful on this one. My first one resulted in an ureadable screen on bootup.
This is the step that I think I messed up |
