hey,
I picked up a netra X1 at my university's surplus sale. It did not, however, have a System Configuration Card (thing in the back). Trying to issue the poweron command from LOM obviously gave me a fatal error. A buddy of mine was in japan at Sun for a tour and got a badge thing that had a smart card of the same type that happened to fit. I still have an error about the scc card but the maintanance lights do not blink anymore. Is this progress? I still get nothing returned at that point, but I havent tried putting in a cdrom drive or hard drive or anything. Does anyone who has an x1 or v100 know what to expect if you dont have any drives in or what i should do? ive been asking around for an actual SCC (370-4285), but its hard to track down and im not even sure if this thing will work with a new one ( I did get it for $5 ) _________________ you haven't really burned until you've burned from a CLI |

You should at least get into the firmware (openboot prom, I think it is called), without any disks installed. |
