Hi!

Upon doing an emerge -avu world, portage grabs (among other things) xorg-server-1.1.1-r1
but fails the emerge.

This is the output from the emerge process:

Code:

Ok. Looking into the file /var/tmp/portage/xorg-server-1.1.1-r1/temp/autoconf-26439.out
(as stated in the error message), I can see that the actual error is the following:

Code:

configure.ac:466: error: possibly undefined macro: XTRANS_CONNECTION_FLAGS
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
      See the Autoconf documentation.

Googling on this gave me that I apparently needed something called "xtrans", which I already do.
Just for the sake of it, I've also tried re-emerging both autoconf and xtrans, but it didn't help.

Anyone have any idea of what's going on?

Hi.

You need to post your emerge --info.

I tried adding ~x86 to autoconf to see if maybe using autoconf 2.60 would help. It didn't, so I'm still stuck.

I've talked with the folks at #gentoo-desktop, namely leio, Cleric and dberkholz, and they ask you to create a bug in Bugzilla about this.
Please attach your error, emerge --info, the emerge log and the output of grep XTRANS_CONNECTION_FLAGS /usr/share/aclocal/xtrans.m4. If you don't have an emerge log, please add PORT_LOGDIR=/var/log/portage to your /etc/make.conf and try to emerge again.
Before opening the bug report, please emerge m4 with FEATURES="test" emerge m4 and try again.

FEATURES="test" didn't help either.

Bug #151824 filed:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151824

I would also like to thank you for taking your time to help me.
Thanks!
