I run acrobat reader from terminal, it occurs the following error:
| Quote: |
/opt/Acrobat7/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread: symbol lookup error: /emul/linux/x86/usr/lib/libfontconfig.so.1: undefined symbol: FT_Get_BDF_Property |
But the root user can run acrobat reader without any errors, what is this problem, and how can I fix it?
Thanks a lot!

Why don't you use an open source PDF reader? _________________ "Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves." - Abraham Lincoln

Are those compatible with the exceptionally annoying watermarking capability of Adobe Acrobat 6+? My generic gnome-Install required the use of the adobe stuff to view the "Graphic Imaging Technology Inc" scans of X-men comics. I imagine that will apply to all of their products.
As to the original question, I can only guess that there is a problem with the permissions on the acroread folder. _________________ This space for rent... Well maybe to give away.. Heck.. i'll pay you to take it.

The problem is caused by the library file introduced by a precompiled commercial package in normal user. The library is not compatible with new compiled acroreader.
I would use open-source pdf reader if possible.
Thanks for attention! |

I have a question about PDF's. I purchased a Calculus E-Book for school and I cannot open it in Linux. I can open it under XP, after enabling DRM and signing up for a .NET passport, and authorizing this machine for viewing the document....pain in the @ss. Well, the directions stated that I needed a minimum of Adobe Reader 7.0.7 to open it up and I do have that. I just don't see a place to enable DRM docs to be viewed. Is this a Winders only thing? I really hate the fact that I paid 90 USD for an *electronic* textbook that I cannot open in my native OS. Any clues? _________________ The Fueley
