Yes that is probably the point of open source but open source does not mean that anyone can tinker with your code and then you HAVE to support that tinkering. If someone changes something...he gives the support. That is what Mozilla is saying. "If you want to change the code...you give the support...if you want our support...get the changes validated from us and use our branding...else...no deal". What so wrong in that? This makes them deserve the childish behavior of debian? |

And Debian is saying "no thanks". What's so childish about that? |

The way they said the "no thanks" is childish. Making a cross on a product's logo at some Linux conf is childish imho. |

Don't mix up the issues, they are seperate. Debian is allowed to replace the branding -- in fact they HAVE to replace the branding. That some people decided to be dinks about it doesn't change this. _________________ Petition for Better 64-bit ATI Drivers - Sign Here

And guess who added the copyright and trademark logos with a pen on the drawing? Mofo guys, that's it...
So, yes, they all were childish... The drawing was just supposed to be a joke (ok, not a that good one... though the weasel seeming to screw/scratch on the earth almost made me piss my pants )... but seeing who reacted bad from the mofo (Glazman... ), I am not even sure the drawers at the conf were the most childish... |
