I'm in the process of deciding for a PCI WLAN card, but I'm having a hard time finding cards with Linux drivers. At the moment I have one candidate, the D-Link DWL-500. Its kind of outdated technology though, and costs no less than the new models. Any recommendations? |

If you want a top-notch wireless card, go with the Cisco 350. It'll cost you a pretty penny -- about $120 last time I looked -- but the thing works wonders. It has one of the most powerful transmitter of all the wireless cards and gets spectacular range.
If you're looking for something more economical, use and Orinoco Gold card. The thing runs for about $50 and has some of the best range that I've seen. Whatever you do, don't by the Linksys card. I've only heard bad things about that one. |
