Creating Patches for Ebuilds
This guide will show you how to:
Create a patch for use with an ebuild
or
Import an existing patch you'd like to add.
Tools Needed:
- app-portage/abeni version 0.0.18 or later
Steps to import a patch for use in an ebuild:
- Run 'abeni', open your ebuild.
- Click the save icon on the toolbar
- Press F1 to create a digest
- Select "Import patch" under the Tools menu
- Select the patch file
Steps to create your own patch:
- Run 'abeni', open your ebuild.
- Click the save icon on the toolbar
- Press F1 to create a digest
- Press F2 to unpack the source
- Select "Create patch in ${S}" under the Tools menu
- Select the file you want to create a patch for
- Edit file, save and exit.
- Enter name of your patch in dialog
Click the save icon and you're ready to emerge the ebuild with your patch.
Note:
The above steps will add a src_unpack() function if it isn't present already and add the appropriate "epatch <patch filename" code, inherit eutils, and copy the patch to your $FILESDIR. |

Hilarious! you resurrected a 8 year old post with your 100. post.
Anyway, it was not just for patches, but for creating an ebuild from scratch. Not a bad idea, it was like an IDE for ebuilds. _________________ Anyway it's all the same at the end...
Need help to get it working: "x-fi surround 5.1" |
