I've followed the tutorial in the Gentoo Wiki on getting XGL and Compiz working. If I want to switch to Compiz using compiz-manager the system falls back to Metacity and I get the following errors:
Code: | ** (compiz-manager:6209): WARNING **: Couldn't open /proc//environ
** (compiz-manager:6209): WARNING **: Couldn't open /proc//environ
** (compiz-manager:6209): WARNING **: Couldn't open /proc//environ
** (compiz-manager:6209): WARNING **: Couldn't open /proc//environ
XGL Absent, assuming AIGLX
compiz: No composite extension
** (compiz-manager:6209): WARNING **: Couldn't open /proc//environ

I've never heart something about /proc/environ and I'm pretty shure that XGL is installed. Some ideas?
System:
Thinkpad x60s, Driver: i810 newest available version

You sure you have Xgl started and that you have xvinfo installed? Anyways this should be in unsupported software. |

Oh, I thought compiz-manager would start XGL. Now it's working. Thanks! |

XGL and Compiz are not related. Compiz-manager starts the compiz stuff. |
