I get pathetic speeds when uploading from my sun machine. The downloads are fine and work at full speeds. Below is a netio benchmark, which shows there is some problem surely. Filesystem ext3 and kernel 2.6.17. The ethernet card is Code: | Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. Happy Meal (rev 01) | .
netio from a remote machine to sun machine. The remote machine performs just fine:
Code: | netio -t sunmachine
NETIO - Network Throughput Benchmark, Version 1.26
(C) 1997-2005 Kai Uwe Rommel
TCP connection established.
Packet size 1k bytes: 7698 KByte/s Tx, 1039 KByte/s Rx.
Packet size 2k bytes: 9959 KByte/s Tx, 664 KByte/s Rx.
Packet size 4k bytes: 10062 KByte/s Tx, 103 KByte/s Rx.
Packet size 8k bytes: 11282 KByte/s Tx, 64535 Byte/s Rx.
Packet size 16k bytes: 10569 KByte/s Tx, 158 KByte/s Rx.
Packet size 32k bytes: 9944 KByte/s Tx, 165 KByte/s Rx.
Done.

I had a similar issue on my Sun box running Solaris, turned out that a patch revision had installed some drivers that were just killing the card, for every packet sent and recieved, 4 would come in with a wrong checksum and be discarded.
Perhaps it's related? I had the same card. Try rolling back the driver. especially if you have recently upgraded your kernel. _________________ Help the confused! Adopt an unanswered post!
