Hi,

Trying to get a simple parallelport HP Laserjet 5L to work.

The cups admin wont let me specify a parallel-port, so I guess theres something wrong with my kernel-settings? "dmesg" doesnt show my printer btw.

So, I have "Parallel port support" checked (*). Shouldnt that be enough?

?

Thanks,
Supermule

Did you also compile in "PC-style hardware"? You need that too.

I had this problem with a (motherboard) chipset that was "unsupported" according to the kernel log (dmesg).
