|

Hi,
I've successfully booted the ip30-r10k+-20050530 kernel off my bootp server, the console reports getting an IP address from the server along with the kernel image, which boots just fine. However, I can't use eth0. Configuring my network seems to go OK, but I still can't ping anything, not the router, not the bootp server, nothing. The network is a a home lan with the Octane and the bootp server (ppc laptop, actually) plugged into a Linksys router. I've tried /bin/net-setup dhcp & setting it up with static routing, and doing it myself. Nothing works.
Any suggestions on where to go from here? thanks!

Some more info: On IRIX I'm having similar but not identical problems. I can ping around my lan, but nothing beyond that, e.g., ping $NAMESERVER fails. |

Which netboot image are you using? Kumba did make a blooper with one some time ago, where it wouldn't talk to anything. _________________ Stuart Longland (a.k.a Redhatter, VK4MSL)

That works. Thanks! I was about to lose my mind with that one. As for the Irix problem, I think I'll just igore it. |
