Hi i am trying to install gentoo on a raid setup using the onbroad raid on the asrock dual-sata2. The issue i have is that there is no /dev/sdb1 or so on it is just /dev/sdb. And also a question fdisk doesnt seem to reconize any logical partions. it will just say something a problem with /dev/sda or somthing of the like

You will probably have to do a software raid or use dmraid. Someone posted a link on how to do these in a thread I made earlier, you'll find it if you search.

*edit* check this thread:

mdadm --create --verbose /dev/md1 --level=1 --raid-devices=2 /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1
there is the underlining problem. There is no such partition /dev/sdb1, all i have under /dev/ is just sdb
and no additional partitions. I wonder if booting the install cd with the right driver module i can use the /dev/mapper section. but i dont know what the driver name is for the raid.
