Gentoo is great, but it has too much LFS feel to it. There are no useradd scripts, no pppsetup script, no ppp-go/off with assoiciated ip-up|down scripts, etc.
Yes, I can do all of these chores by hand, and that's the way to learn... but after you create a user for the 1024th time, are you really still learning or just wasting time? _________________ ---

To some extent, I agree. However, some distro's (*cough*Redhat*cough*) try to script too much, and then when something doesn't work as expected or I want to customize behavior a little, I have to dig through way too much crap to find what I want.
I much prefer the step-by-step docs that gentoo has for everything than the "script everything to death" approach. Gentoo is Linux for the power user, after all...

All those scripts are there. You simply have to install them. Gentoo gives you the control.

Well, gosh. Let's see what Google has to say...
Oh, look! The first hit.

At least *try* to search before posting. Please?

Following the do-it-yourself method Gentoo uses, why not learn scripting and make your own?
Scripting is FUN! _________________ Safety is my gaol.
