|
|
Code: |
boot:
Loading Gentoo
BIOS data check successful
Uncompressing Linux... OK, booting the kernel.
|
just as https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=47554
And I have select vesafb and enable vesa mode selection.
I use reiserfs, so I disable ext2,ext3 and xfs.
I try with and without the boot patch metioned in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=47554, but the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks. |

For me, boot is OK using 2.5.67-mm3 with FrameBuffer disabled in kernel compilation. I didn't need to apply any patch. When trying to compile with FrameBuffer enabled ( Using Vesa o trident driver ), it hangs at:
Code: |
Configuring kernel parameters...
|
which is a step farther then the one u mention... _________________ Toshiba Tecra 8200

Mine boots fine with framebuffer (VESA).
Keep in mind that I've applied a patch that is somewhere around this forums because it also used to hang on the same point as it does with chrisyu. _________________ Lego my ego, and I'll lego your knowledge

Thank you guys.
I will apply the patch and try.
I compiled without the pacth and I changed some other options and It worked!!
I added ACPI and with VESAFB enabled and some other choices(forgotten../).
But I am not sure which one make it work.
And screen is black when I set vga=791 or 790, vga=normal is ok.
So I run in. ^_^
Now I want to configure my sound card(cs46xx), hope me good luck. |
