Hi,
I've installed Xgl with ati and Compiz-Vanilla on KDE 3.5.2.
All effects run well, but the DRI/DRM dosn't work
the error of fglrxinfo is:
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
display: :0.0 screen: 0
OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: MOBILITY RADEON X700 Generic
OpenGL version string: 1.2 (2.0.5879 (8.26.18))
In the X and Xgl logs no errors are detected,
I've tried to re-emerge ati-drivers (like nvidea procedure),but the problem
is the same. The libdrm are installed on the o.s, no error found during the installation
procedure.
It's a first time that i write on the gentoo discussion forums, and I hope that someone help me _________________ #!/bin/bash

Hi,
Dri/Drm does not work within xgl, as the current implementation uses indirect rendering. Hence the correct output of glxinfo should be "direct rendering: No".
Is your output from within xgl or xorg?
Do you get a decent frame rate from opengl apps, eg glxgears? |

with glxgears the result is poor.
with top i see that the processes are CPU intensive.
Tell me which suggest to apply.
Thanks in advanced. _________________ #!/bin/bash
