Hello,
Recently me and a friend of mine were getting very upset over ICQ's instability (frequent server drops. Probably due to high traffic), so we tried using google's jabber service (both of us have gmail accounts, plus google has a nice page, explaining how to set it up in Gaim). It all works perfectly, except for the small detail, that if you send a message, when the other user is offline, it fails and the message does not get delivered when the user comes online again. I should mention that I am using Gaim 2.0.0beta3, while my friend is using kopete. Does anyone know if this is because of our clients, because of google's server, or because we forgot to set some option in our accounts? Google's help page, mentions that if a friend is offline, one can still send a message (or rather, an email), but this clearly does not happen, when using anything other than google's client. _________________ W |
