just wanted to know if xgl +compiz require gnome 2.14, or will it be fine to use 2.12. also, are they only available in the unstable branch or can i install xgl + compiz on my system running stable branch?

Moved from Desktop Environments to Unsupported Software.

You need at least Xorg 7.0.

that does not answer my question at all. xorg 7.0 is already in the stable branch. however gnome 2.14 is not. thats why i specifically asked on whether or not it needs 2.14, or if 2.12 will do.
