I've got a Pentium D 920 en route, and Intel says this supports "Vitualization Technology". After doing some reading, this seems to help with virtual machines, and I'm wondering if this includes WINE. Like, would it dedicate one core to WINE and the other to the native linux? Or this is marketese for some unusalbe feature?

And to answer your question, no it doesn't help with wine, as wine doesn't do virtualization. Xen, vmware, are virtualization.
