I'm getting kinda fed up....I really do want to use gentoo, but quite a few problems compiling here....Brief system info: Cel 450 w/128MB ram...bootstrapping just seemed to halt after about 10 hours or so (no errors, just nothing moved/happened) so I thought I'd move on to stage 2....well emerge system was fine, up until it came time to compile Ncurses...then I got a segmentation fault (program trying to access memory out of it's range)...I have gotten different errors at this point, but it always stops at ncurses, never goes past it....any ideas?? I really do want to do SOME compiling, I don't want to use Stage3 if I don't have to....

had some compiling errors, too. just outzeroed my partition to be sure nothing's left and started again. finally it worked.

with my celeron 400mhz and 320k mem bootstrapping took about 4 hours...

You did WHAT to your partition? You just formatted it again with whatever filesystem you were using right? I do the same thing after every failure, it keeps coming up with segmentation faults on that damned ncurses thing!
