When I try to mount /dev/cdroms/cdrom0, if it has a music CD is replies
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock
Would it make a differencec if I set the file type in my fstab to auto instead of iso9660 for the cdrom line ? |

Well that is true, even if not having a file system is not exactly an obstacle to being mounted. There are some "pseudo-filesystem" purely experimental that will allow you to mount a music CD. They are completly useless as most program that deals with Audio CD directly connect to the device (exemple : /dev/hdc). Most of the time it is just a question of configuration.
