Hi there
 I somehow feel embarrassed!
How can I use the icons in /usr/share/icons/gentoo/ in gnome?... In my gnome Theme Manager tool the icon set gentoo doesn't appear...

Check the folder.. may be it was unpack with an extra folder level.... /usr/share/icons/gentoo/gentoo/...

12x12 192x192 32x32 48x48 96x96 index.theme
16x16 24x24 36x36 72x72 icon-theme.cache scalable
> ls /usr/share/icons/Gorilla/
24x24 icon-theme.cache index.theme scalable
> ls /usr/share/icons/Suede
COPYING README icon-theme.cache index.theme scalable

it should have index.theme.. at least. rest is dependent of theme.

ok, thanks! I actually don't have a usable index.theme in my folder:
| Code: | $ ls /usr/share/icons/gentoo
32x32 48x48 64x64 l33t l33t.txt

I therefore copied the /usr/share/icons/gnome/index.theme to /usr/share/icons/gentoo/ and edited it. Doesn't work that way...
Hasn't anybody a working gentoo theme with gnome?...

I also haven't got any subfolders in those icon folders, like in gnome (apps, devices, emblems, filesystems...)

I just looked into it, in fact gentoo-artwork is a collection of icons but it is not a theme. You cannot use it in the themes interface. You can only manually select some of those for specific use. Sorry.

The icons are realy nice, someone with some freetime should make it a theme.
