Directed by Keanu Reeves. Also stars.

No.

Hopefully this launches Tiger Chen's career as a martial arts action hero. Nobody since Bruce has really been able to manage the role. And maybe Keanu won't suck at directing too.

That was almost a parody, but Jet seems to have been the closest.

I like Jackie Chan, but he seemed to do more action / comedy.

In terms of skill Jackie Chan has more, the fact that me makes it seem effortless. Besides, he has sparred with Bruce Lee.

We need someone to do a martial arts movie incorporating the latest martial arts, not some Hong Kong wire bullshit. It would be a nod to Bruce Lee as well, since if you think about it, his philosophy was more about where MMA is today than where Kung Fu ever was.

MMA looks little more than a street fight. I'm not into the fight-by-wire stuff (Crouching Tiger was worth watching, but that was enough), but would prefer more traditional than MMA. That needn't include the "ceremonial" don't attack until we're ready theatrics, but it should still be largely martial arts based (even "extending" JKD (if anyone is able to without turning it into MMA).

The Bourne Identity movies had some realistic fights and so is Haywire.

JKD would turn into MMA simply because it is natural extension of combat, which was Bruce Lee's philosophy as well. I guess he would love Krav Maga as well. But we are too much schooled in the aesthetics of movie fights, than any realistic fight rubs us the wrong way.

@ notageek: yes, combat was very well done in Bourne movies

Bourne might be a good example of remaining true to the art without devolving into MMA.

Jackie Chan decided his "thing" would be to do almost the opposite of Bruce Lee's signature moves. That's why he looks so goofy fighting, but it's effective.

My first concern was seeing Tarantino's name, but then RZA was the director. Didn't do well in theaters.
