kfmclient is required by kipiplugins which I have for digikam (to give me upload to flickr support). But I run xfce, and I'm not madly keen on installing konqueror (which is the package containing kfmclient) and all its 12 dependencies. Is there any other way?? How does kfmclient work? Can I just compile kfmclient and place it in /usr/bin ?
Thanks,

kfmclient seems to be a service:
| Quote: | | could not find server kfmclient |
How do things register as a service in KDE? I could just put a bash script in /usr/kde/3.5/bin that does the same thing as kfmclient.
Thanks,

I am having the same problem as Erlend. If anyone knows of a solution or any update to this problem please post accordingly... :-/ When trying to run the Export to Flickr option in Digikam, i get errrors saying that it "It could not find browser, or load kfmclient" and then I get an "invalid frob". _________________ "Rain from this storm leaves you pinned to the ground like an insect" |

I've just had bug #136087 closed saying,
| Quote: | Creating a kfmclient ebuild wouldn't help. As it calls Konqueror for its
operations we'd had to add Konqueror as PDEPEND.
Well, this bug sat long enough to let the developers of said applications use
the http kio slave, so it isn't an issue anymore. |
Does anybody else have any experience with this? I'm running 0.1.2 and it still requires kfmclient... I've looked in the application's changelog and there is no mention of kio being used for http. _________________ Thunar-thumbnailers
