I noticed that many posts in the News & Announcements Forum contain 'Mailing List Archive: Unavailable' in the end.

Maybe this is not news, but the archives are available here:

It may be unofficial, but even developers use it as reference:

I think they aren't used because they aren't official. In the announcements that have a link to an archive, the original announcement provided the link.
