Hey guys,

I can't seem to get vmware-server to configure correctly, and i've tried configuring it dozens of times.

I checked out the newest vmware-server and eclass code from svn, then i emerged vmware-server which went fine, also emerging vmware-modules in the process

so then I configure by running /opt/vmware/server/bin/vmware-config.pl

I then try to start vmware:
Code:

monster app-emulation # /etc/init.d/vmware restart
 * Re-caching dependency info (mtimes differ)...
 * Re-caching dependency info (mtimes differ)...
 * Re-caching dependency info (mtimes differ)...
 * Re-caching dependency info (mtimes differ)...
 * VMware Server is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
 * for the running kernel. To (re-)configure it, invoke the
 * following command: /opt/vmware/server/bin/vmware-config.pl.
 * VMware is not properly configured! See above.                                                                                                                                   [ !! ]

So then i try to reconfigure again... and i get the same error

when i run vmware i see:
Code:

monster app-emulation # vmware
vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following command:
/opt/vmware/server/bin/vmware-config.pl.

anyone ever run into this problem?

Thanks!
George
