I just tried to emerge kopete and when I run it I Get the error: kopete was compiled with libpng 1.2.1but is running with 1.0.12. I tried running emerge libpng and it reinstalled 1.2.2 but it still won't run. I remember seeing something about this somewhere on the website but I can't find it for the life of me. can someone help me out? |

Did you try re-emerging kopete with the updated libpng installed? _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

Is this a dependency bug in the ebuild? |

No... more likely, it's Linux "DLL Hell". Just do "emerge kopete" and it should rebuild with the latest libpng, and ought to work... I think. |

but metalhedd said he/she emerged kopete, which should (if needed) also emerge the proper version of libpng, which it seems like it didn't do. . . . perhaps . . . |

Well libpng is a BIG problem, just do a search for it and see how many results you get. To me recompiling kopete *should* resolve the issue. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |

The update to KDE 3.0.1 also broke somehow my libpng. rox filer bashed me at some missing libpng files.
emerge gdk-pixbuf
emerge libpng
helped in this case. _________________ Do you want your posessions identified? [ynq] (n) |

Yeah I also broke rox filer recently, but re-emerging the correct things corrected the problem. _________________ This message self destructed a long time ago. |
