So says the release announcement for 0.8.8. Anyone gotten it to work? On amd64, in firefox, the youtube videos won't play, and I just get a screen that says, "an error occured, please try again later."

So I'm planning on 'trying again later,' but deep in my heart I suspect this will not help...

Code:
emerge -pv gnash

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!

Well an update.

It seems somehow related to cookies.

When I navigate to a youtube video, I get the error. If I go into my firefox 'preferences' and delete all cookies (probably not necessary to delete all, but I'm lazy) and then immediately reload the youtube page, the video plays.

So it does work. But having to do the cookie step every time is unfortunate.

Works!

Did some reading on the gnash mailing list.

The solution is to delete all youtube cookies, and then permanently block all youtube cookies.

Works swimmingly now.
