I'm looking into installing Gentoo for a server, but I only have the 1.1a bootable CDROM. (don't currently have a burner, don't ask )
Will this be a problem, given the 1.2 release? I know I can upgrade from previously installed Gentoo installations via portage, and I'm assuming a stage 1 install, which is the only way to install:) will work, just the same no matter the version number. _________________ Toast

Yes this normally works, remember you're using emerge rsync, so all packages are up to date. btw. you can also download the stage 1 1.2 tbz2 file and unpack this instead of the one on the cd, just use wget http:// well you have to check the url yourself.
