[SOLVED] MySQL UTF-8 and German Charackters

Since i updated from 4.0.24 to 4.1.16 i cant save german special charachters anymore. normal characters are saved propably but when i try to save öäüö the string ends directly before the first special character and the rest isnt saved.

any idear?
