this done for a reason? dont really care but i'm just curious. i did kinda like using it for things such as adding new users (http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=4583) and simple network config'ing. but the gentoo docs have provided me with such great help i havent noticed it missing until now.

| linuxconf is very buggy. Besides, Gentoo has different configuration files (networking included) than most other distros, so linuxconf wouldn't do you any good. |
